The dark side of memes: spreading untruths about religion

A Crux article about the Ansari Institute’s “Religion Beyond Memes” conference quoted Professor of Islamic Studies Ebrahim Moosa, who during a panel discussion said that “memes can maim” and even become toxic, “discrediting an entire people.”

The daylong conference, held at the Keough School’s Washington Office, was convened to foster understanding of world religions.
