‘A Very Dangerous Game’: In Latin America, Embattled Leaders Lean on Generals

“The president is saying, ‘The military has not abandoned me, so I will persist. You can burn as much as you want in the streets, impeach me as much as you want, and I’m still here. It’s a very powerful signal,” said Pérez-Liñán.
