Program Director, Knowledge Management

Gwendolyn Stansbury leads the Keough School’s knowledge management activities, working to bridge research, policy, and practice by helping to increase access to the school’s knowledge and research and translate it for diverse audiences.

Stansbury has long experience in the research/policy/scholarly communications realms. Prior to coming to Notre Dame, she served as chief of publications at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome, and as director of communications and knowledge management at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington, DC. Stansbury also worked as a consultant for a range of international development/research organizations, including the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the CGIAR, a global research partnership focused on food security. She also has taught journalism at the university level.

Stansbury holds a PhD in history from the University of New England in Australia, a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University, and a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Michigan. She was raised in a bilingual, bicultural family and speaks Spanish and Italian.
