Global Policy Impact
The Keough School informs and influences policy through three interconnected pathways: research outreach, experiential learning and partnerships.
Research Outreach
Our evidence-to-action approach translates research, presents it in accessible and actionable formats and puts it in the hands of policymakers and practitioners who can use key findings in their work. Our Washington Office convenes policy seminars that feature faculty along with policymakers and practitioners, and the school’s publications present faculty research findings in accessible, easy-to-apply formats that policymakers can use.
Experiential Learning
We train students to tackle thorny problems by working with partners and the people they serve, in part through the school’s Integration Lab and through peace studies internships. Students learn to navigate ambiguity, solve problems and collaborate with teams across different organizations, all while building valuable connections in their respective fields. This hands-on approach to learning is critical to training effective changemakers.
Partnerships
We forge and deepen relationships with key institutions that share our focus on promoting and defending human dignity, whether in government, nongovernmental organizations or the private sector. We leverage all the resources that are available at a global research university like Notre Dame, including our main campus, our Washington, D.C. Office , and Notre Dame’s rich global network, which has a presence on five continents as well as its robust global network of alumni and friends.
