‘Their stories should be told right’: how museums are documenting the protests

In a recent Guardian article, Maggie Shum, research associate for the Master of Global Affairs program, called for proper and respectful preservation of Black Lives Matter protests placards in museums.

“They [museums and their curators] need to be mindful of respecting the bottom-up and grassroots expressions. Communities and individuals who participated and placed the placards should be consulted. Their stories should be told right.”
