Gwendolyn Stansbury

Program Director, Knowledge Management

Gwendolyn Stansbury leads the Keough School’s knowledge management activities, working to bridge research, policy, and practice by helping to increase access to the school’s knowledge and research and translate it for diverse audiences.

Prior to coming to Notre Dame, Stansbury served as chief of publications at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome, where she developed a digital-first publishing strategy. Prior to working in Rome, Stansbury worked at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington, DC, serving as director of communications and knowledge management during her final three years there. In addition to overseeing traditional communications activities, she led the scholarly support team, working to ensure IFPRI researchers had the training and resources they needed to raise the visibility of their scholarly profiles.

Stansbury has also worked as a consultant for a range of international development/research organizations, including the World Bank, the CGIAR, and the Inter-American Development Bank, and has long experience in the research/policy/scholarly communications realms. She also taught journalism at the university level.

Stansbury holds a PhD in history from the University of New England in Australia, a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University, and a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Michigan. She was raised in a bilingual, bicultural family and speaks Spanish and Italian.
