Emily Tacoma

Senior Coordinator, Faculty Affairs

Emily Tacoma is the faculty affairs senior coordinator for the Keough School of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame. Working in the Dean’s Office, she provides support to Keough School faculty and the associate dean for academic affairs by assisting with many aspects of faculty processes.

Before joining Notre Dame, Tacoma spent four years working with Catholic Charities, serving those in need in St. Joseph County by directing community members to resources, supporting the financial assistance process, and feeding the hungry through management of weekly food pantry services. Prior to that, she co-led a small team consisting of Japanese young adults and a Korean-American woman that traveled to key historical locations in China and South Korea to focus on reconciliation following the devastation of World War II. Tacoma has spent time in different roles in the primary educational realm as a children’s library assistant and as an educational interpreter for Deaf students.

Tacoma holds a bachelor of arts degree in sign language interpreting from Bethel College (now Bethel University) in Mishawaka, Indiana. She is passionate about excellence in service, communication, and education, as well as cultural and socio-economic understanding.
