Submission Requirements

The complete application will require:

  • A brief abstract of your research (150 words)
  • Documentation of a publication expense
  • A publication plan (with a timeline identifying target journals or publishers)
  • An abbreviated (2-3 page) CV
  • A detailed line-item budget

Evaluation Criteria

  • Proposed research projects must demonstrate relevance to Kellogg's core theme of global democracy.
  • Applicants should clearly articulate how their research contributes to advancing understanding and fostering positive change within the Institute's thematic areas.
  • Applicants should demonstrate how the publication contributes to advancing knowledge, addressing significant research gaps, or informing policy and practice within their respective fields. This may involve highlighting the originality, significance, and relevance of the research findings for the intended audience, as well as discussing potential implications for future research, policy development, or practical applications.
  • Overall quality of the proposal including its potential for innovation (e.g., in research methodology), as well as professional presentation
  • Budgetary appropriateness
