Keough School researchers study refugee resettlement in Italy

Professors Ilaria Schnyder and Clemens Sedmak are studying refugee resettlement and acclimation into Italian society, with the goal of providing a clearer picture of effective strategies of accompaniment during the resettlement process. For example, they are examining whether a small-scale accompaniment model can work in accepting refugees.

“The research question is, does this make a difference? Does this work? And by work I mean, does this lead to social peace, coexistence, cohesion?” says Sedmak, professor of social ethics.
