Bittersweet: Master’s students address complex global food supply chains

Master of global affairs student Sofía del Valle conducted international field research in Ghana, gaining a deeper understanding of cocoa farming and the supply chain for chocolate. Part of a three-person student research team with the Keough School’s Integration Lab, Del Valle and her classmates are working with Oxfam America to improve policies and practices at multinational food and beverage companies. Del Valle’s research, for example, is meant to inform policy that improves the lives of female cocoa farmers in Ghana, the world’s second-largest cocoa producer. READ MORE »
