Program Manager, Policy

 
The Program Manager, Policy will work closely with the Associate Dean for Policy and Practice at the Keough School of Global Affairs to manage research and education events and activities both at Notre Dame and at national and international venues and facilitate the development of global affairs research initiatives. S/he will also provide administrative support to the Associate Dean.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Curricular and Research Program Management – The Program Manager coordinates a wide range of policy events and curricular activities. The Program Manager will provide logistical support and coordinate program planning and implementation for these activities. This includes communicating with guests and their staff about the event, coordinating guest itineraries while on campus, ensuring that university and diplomatic protocols are followed for official guests, making logistical arrangements for the visit, preparing program materials, and helping build strong relationships with our guests and partners.

Coordinating global affairs research initiatives – The Program Manager will facilitate the development of research initiatives on global affairs issues, such as as diplomacy, trade, development, migration and refugees, and other global policy challenges. The Program Manager will assist the Associate Dean by conducting research on the web and in the scholarly literature on assigned topics; writing, editing and fact-checking memos, briefs, articles and other documents; contributing to grant proposals, and coordinating faculty working groups on key research themes.

Administrative support – The Program Manager will provide administrative support to the Associate Dean. This includes managing the Associate Dean’s schedule, scheduling meetings, facilitating conference calls and video conferences, drafting communications, making travel arrangements, submitting travel reimbursement requests, and other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelor’s degree required; M.A. degree in Global Affairs or a social science preferred.

A successful applicant must have excellent organizational skills; strong writing ability; ability to manage international projects; understanding of or ability to learn diplomatic and protocol matters associated with senior level government and international officials; experience working virtually with partners in off-site locations; familiarity with global or international policy.
